Symptoms:
ATX system, press button and all fans start, drives power on, no visuals on monitor. No giveaway beeps (probably something to do with no internal speaker connected), no magic smoke, no smoke smell, RAM has been reseated correctly without result.

Cause:
PEBKAC

Solution:
Remove PBKAC, insert more efficient device.

errr that sounds like my old problem except it worked with a bios flash and then a safe mode reconfig but you know talk to moo

I'm still fairly adamant something's up with the PBKAC, if you replace it with something better for the job (I hear you can buy them fairly cheap now, especially from Russia (http://www.bride.ru/) and America). Although I suppose you could take your PBKAC into a repair-person to have it adjusted with a LART (http://www.arcadeshopper.com/mame/images/hammer.jpg). Percussive maintenance (http://www.bestreadguide.com/branson/images/20030605/punch.jpg) is probably the solution you want here.
