spoken like a true fuckwit!!
you would have NO IDEA what a console is griph.
you have grown up in the playstation generation.
back in the day it was known as the NINTENDO generation, because they ruled the roost.
you are an ill informed fool griph and i have lost what little (probably negative) amount of respect i had for you with the above comment.
at lans all i do is play ol' skool games, cause most new games SUCK BALLS!!
CONSOLES ROCK!!
my dream in life is to get a SNES in mint condition with 2 controllers and Super Mario Kart (the best version of it and the best game ever made(cept for all SF games))
when consoles ruled it was the ONLY way to get ARCADE (ever heard of one griph??) quality gaming in the home.
gaming has gone to shit nowadays cause you have all your fancy 3d graphics.
back when programmers, etc. had less to work with, it meant games actually played well and had a story and were truly addictive!!
now they just give a game a nice engine and with shitty content.
and true multiplayer is when you sit next to the other player and can hit and taunt them when necessary!!
so don't you dare open your mouth to dis consoles again griph, or ill stuff an atari jaguar controller in it.http://www.atariage.com/Jaguar/controllers/con_JaguarController.jpg

Games like Pacman, Prince of Persia, Galaxian, had stories? None other than what were in the manual, AFAIK. But you're right - there aren't any games coming out with original stories. Just war-sims for World War 1, World War 2, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the current Iraq operations - it's getting old. We need a decent game with a decent FICTIONAL storyline. At least if it's gunna have real world references, make it more realistic and droll. (I've not played Joint Ops, but apparently it's more realistic than most games)
...oh, and Yoshi's Island for the SNES owned :) I spent yonks playing that game.
...oh, and while we're on our nostalgia break, I remember using a bloody ORIC machine. Complete with casette recorder you had to hook up to the machine. My mother actually programmed a game on it!! I'm so proud of her.

Gee, no storyline nowadays, hey? Shit spot, have you ever actually played any RPGs that aren’t (deliberately extra exaggerated quotation marks) "old skool" MUDs and stuff? Have you ever bothered to play MORROWIND???
And spot, I'm 17, so I grew up in the snes generation, not the ps generation. The best game for the snes was super mario brothers 3 (after it was re-released for snes in all stars, but I played more hours on the nes version). Chances are you'll say that super mario world was better- but it was only a doing what had been done before.
...And mario kart was doing what had been done before in skunny kart, which was a COMPUTER release.
Does anybody remember the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game on super nintendo how awesome was that one compared to the one just recently bough out(big disapointment)

and all stars rocked, i got it with my snes, tho i did like world too.
