None really, we are trying to make it as open as possible. The more LAN's as members, the better, and the more we can do. We also want to assist LAN's in establishing themselves, every town needs a LAN ;)

Thanks Baikes, well thats good to know. Just so u guys know what LAN-ZillA is, Lz was a pet project of mine and my mate [crawZ] as a big LAN project for the gamers that we know, it was run at teh buninyong town hall, we had hoped for 50 gamers but in the end we had 60+ gamers show up and game, *w00t*

we had sponcership from the very good people at BnD Tech, for the loan of some very L337 hub'age and backed up agian by the [SuP] gaming clan's own network gear. It to us a hell of a lot of work to get it off the ground and it payed off, but help like what VICLan can offer would been a real boost. Due to school {were both still at school, Yr12} its been hard for us to run another and also time is hard....but the end of the year around november december is when we will be running the next Lz. Support to help us do this and make it a better LAN for all would be a huge shot in the arm. The venue we had loved us, and allowed up less rent and less bond for the next event. even better news for us.

But the aim of this LAN was for gamers from the many schools we know to come and have some mad game action, but we found it hard to run something like this, and this is where VICLan would help us, we made some mistakes and have learnt from them and from what i saw at X6, support of gamers going to LANs is another goal i hope to push for, its all well and good having LAN, but when numbers don't show, it bombs out.

With ZillA, we allowed the many school aged gamers to LAN and with this many people allows for bigger and better LANs

I think that VIClan is teh BoMB, it would help people like the Lz crew to get off the ground, and not the hard way||

Peace, :woot

we have now finished the actual course part of NEIS,
and we move into the final stage of it all, the BUSINESS PLAN and the PANEL.

me and kenny are hard at work on the business plan cause its like 30 pages long as well as running events so please excuse the lack of updates. (we kinda forget about it sorry!)

but its very, very near. we just have to finalise numbers with you guys and then we are probably ready to offer you guys lan manager membership!! :woot

3 Weeks and counting.

Well Kenny i know how much work goes into a business plan (i am also in the middle of geeting one done for an idea i have, very slowy :) ) but its well worth it.

Keep up the good work guys and let us know when your done.

Also remember guys if any of you need help running your LAN's you don't have to wait for VicLAN to be up and running there are already LAN's around the place willing to help you if you need it. Both MoB & MonsterLAN (me) have all the gear needed to run a large LAN so if you do need stuff just let us know.

Also if you don't want to have to borrow switches all the time MonsterLAN has reseller status from Alloy Computer Products and can get cheap good quality gear, we use it at our LAN's with no problems at all.

We at LAN-ZillA would appreciate all the help we can get for getting our 2nd LAN off the ground. We were right with setup and admin details but just layout and placement of peeps were a prob. any pearls of wisdow i can get from the more senior LAN managers would be ace.
