Joshu

A job?!?!?!?!?! God forbid I'd have one of those!?!
This is what I bloody well meant at the start of the topic, oh gosh dear silly me. Anyone know of any computer places looking for a 16-year-old kid to do whatever, including repair, networking, programming, sales, and maintenance?
i know its abit off topic, but i know Davis bus lines is looking for an apprentice heavy diesel mechanic. get in on that line of werk and u'll be set for years
pfft... they're going for those who've done the pre app.
How bout you actually hand your resume out? You know I got my job at le kitchen after 3 hours of that. I also got my apprenticeship the first time I handed out a resume in the industry. Try going and getting one of those maybe?

Ouch! Joshu, I respect you, but she's got a point man - a job could be good! Hell, I'm getting one and I'm actually going to school!
Joshu

KIT, YOU FUCKING IGNORANT TWAT. HOW ABOUT YOU READ MY POST. Thankyou. :)
How about, I've _tried_ handing out my resume. No-one's interested in employing a 16-year-old fulltime.
How bout you hand it out to places that aren't solely to do with computers?

Indeed, fucktard - post in new threads, don't resurrect old ones unless it's REALLY worth it.
On that note, "ur AVATAR is damo" - yes, it is.

Still looking for work, part- or full-time! I know word of mouth isn't the most reliable way to nab a job, but it's better than the ads in the paper - which don't even have many computing jobs anyway.
Bear in mind that it's not solely computing/programming jobs I'm looking for - I'm a very quick learner, and am prepared to do close to anything (bar prostitution - I'm a little young yet)
(I'm yet to post my resume on the internet... for when I do, the path to yuppyness shall be walked, and to complete my training I will have to buy an N-Gage. Shall do shortly, though.)
(EDIT: I mean, I shall post my resume on the internet shortly. Not buy an N-Gage.)

Poor old joshu, i'd probably give you one, if only i could :(
possibly even a job, too ;)

well getting a job is really not that easy atm - there are jobs out there but most are if you are there at the right time and place.
and as for looking for work outside of computing - meh. really dont.
if its not something you love and want to do - you wont do well at the job and hate it.
but sometimes you need the money - so whats more important?
i know what i would choose - jobs you hate are not jobs - they are torture.

Joshu, im a qualified Techie and i cant get a freaken job as one. Its a lot harder than putting a post in a thread or looking through the paper. Ive put my resume in at every god damn IT joint in ballarat and even applied at IBM(i got so desperate i applied at a joint im no where near qualified to work).
My advice to you is to get your arse to TAFE and complete a couple of certificates, just saying that you can fix a comp. isnt enough.

indeed, expand your horizons guys!!
a great man once said 'Ballarat is nothing more than a dirt road and a post office'
great words.
i think theres something in that for all of us.
A greater man once said "Glass, who gives a shit about glass?"
But that's a story for another day.
Ballarat is good for being born/educated in and maybe for coming back to, to die but in between i plan to be somewhere else.
