I'll be honest i don't like CS at all, i personally think it sux and i can't really stand it (just ask madcap bout this fact). I only played it to be part of the team and to pass some time at the LAN-X comp. But i disagree with the shirtboy here. At the moment BF: Desert Combat is in front of CS in comparison to what CS was when it first came out. I think it is time to move on from CS, it was good while it lasted but there is better Halflife mods out there like DOD, PVK, Firearms, which are all top notch. Come on move on people plz

I forgot to enter this the best mod ever is easily Natural Selection that is the best mod ever invented with PVK coming in second.

Zennon you n00b. CD does work....... it probably works better than any other anti cheat software the problem is yes it can lag the server.
BUt like any other prgram hackers find ways around it, but CD is always updating..............
As for cheaters at LAn I can tell you this much....... If anyone is caught cheating then they will be fishing they;re computer out the river. That shows no repsect for the event and no respect for the people you are playing.

We haven't had a cheater yet in a CS comp so lets not find one at this LAn-X cause I would hate to think what everyone would do to them!!!

werd madcap........ I was on diaup for ages......... I have played with lez when he was dialup and he owned everyone in the server 90% cablers.

Dialup is cool as long as you have a constant rate and you don't have too much lag if your ping is constant then you can do really well.

joshu, people can still run 1.5 servers the same way as they can still run 1.3 servers after won goes down you just have to set it to be sv_lan 1 and use a program like port pipe to make all the connections come localy. The onfortunate part of WON going down is not being able to ban people.

ive been playing cs through 5 major upgrades, and they used to be 100 mb downlads for the cs install and around 80 mb for hl upgrade.

im quite happy to be downloading it this once so that any upgrades in the future can be made little by little.
