Guys, I know I don't usually (ever) come here for help, but i'm fucking stumped on this one.
Just hooked up my PS3 to my new LCD (http://www.into-lcd-monitors.com/public/214.cfm) today (HDMI-DVI) and have been getting some nasty resolution issues.
720p looks fine, looks great actually.
1080p, the reason I got this monitor, has strange lines running across the screen, at all times, its fucking frustrating.. Refer to pictures. I took one of myself with my pseye, because, well, theres just not enough photos of me on this forum :(
Any help would be great, cheers guys.
BTW, I'm in my ballarat house, this is by far not my permanent setup.
and yes, fully aware of aspect ratio issues with me using a 16:10 display.

Supporting a resolution of 1900X1200 WUXGA with 16.7bit color
there's your problem, it's having trouble choosing color values between 0 and 65535.7
seriously though, more info - using hdmi>dvi cable?
does the monitor actually advertise hdmi / 1080p / 720p support? can't see anything about it on its product page.

dis herrr be my kay-bel! (http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/477b92e707a695d62740c0a87 f9c077f/Product/View/C1785). Doesn't advertise support for them, I just assumed, after research (embaressed emoticon). Luckily for me 720p still goes alright...I just know that once every game starts getting released 1080p style i'll be kicking myself (moreso)
dude, I tried both component and hdmi->dvi on my ps3 on my 24"
and regardless, it always looks somewhat off, edges kind of running, and not real sharp, the 360 using component does the same, but when the 360 is hooked using hdmi it is 100%.
1920x1200 lcd, with the 360 leaves small bars at the top and bottom (ONLY when hdmi->dvi), the ps3 uses every pixel, and appears to be trimming it from the sides still, same as the 360 does with component.
the exact same thing (except shows it up 100x worse) is linux on the ps3 at 1080i (1080p not seem to work there)
I presumed it was a software bug, and have not tried since..
projector is 720p and both work awsome at that, and nether the 360 or the ps3 have enough balls to play complex games at 1080, so don't care much.
after looking at pictures... dude, somethings fucked, basically the same as mine, but worse with the lines, mines not really that visible to the eye, like I said, the whole thing (mainly edges) just has the appearance of it moving/running, more like crappy component cables or crappy de-interlacing (even tho hdmi/1080p)
it actually looks like what mine does if I use 1080i

Where the fuck have you been man? back in geelong yet or what?
yeah, not many reports on the internet of this happening, only ones ive seen are from other acer 24'' users.. prawned = me :(
ATM i honestly don't mind using 720p on it, the screen still stretches the image, and has no settings to change it (like you said, it seems like the ps3 wants to use every pixel)
my screen won't run 1080i at all, I didnt expect it to, though.
also, I tried another HDMI - DVI cable, I knew it wouldn't make any difference, but had to try it... I was right :(
some dickhead on some other forum was trying to advise someone with a similar problem, and told them "check that nothing is making Interference... lol!
i been around (australia) man.
and off again soon... screw staying in one spot, that so boring!
