I REALLY want CS:S GunGame Reverse DM!!! Or any CS:S for that matter... It's harder to get a CS:S comp at LANX than it is to start a fight at 21 Arms...

I REALLY want CS:S GunGame Reverse DM!!!I'd definitely be up for CSS GunGame Reverse DM. It's damn fun, but I can't see it working for a comp.

I haven't played UT (any game type) in ages, but might be up for that. CoD2 has pretty much been the de-facto game lately, but I don't think it should be a comp this time around if we can avoid it. It's at risk of getting a bit stale. Don't get me wrong, it's still good, but would be good to introduce something new (or re-introduce something old?). What was the flight-simy game that Kyzen suggested a while back? Sounded interesting, but I haven't seen it in action yet.

No matter what though, something I'd really like to see at some point is the return the old round-robin tournaments with like a half dozen teams. The Elbow vs. GUF format has it's problems, primarily the younger kiddies hating the games played by the older crowd, and vice versa. I think we'd all like to avoid another time wasting sook-fest like has happened the last couple of times.

I don't think it's necessarily the choice of games, more the selction of gamers we have at each venue. For example, last LANX I was at guf, and it was me and a few friends who actually wanted to play in the LANX comps, in the LANX games and actually be a part of the fucking LAN! The rest of the people at guf showed no interest, we had four kids up the back playing runescape, at a lan. Runescape.

The difference in skilled gamers to choose from is ridiculous between venues, so any competition is over before it has begun, although I like the idea - it really just doesn't work. Definitely up for bringing back the old style competitions based on teams.

The kids at the back of guf were not all playing runescape. Two were playing 'Runescape' one was playing 'World of warcraft' and the other was playing 'Habbo Hotel'. jeez elliott get it right, the only thing those four kids were doing together was giggling and touching each other...

Replace venue with Bended Elbow and you'll get a shit lan.
There's been no good competitions at lans since The uni. It went downhill from there. Damascus was ok... Patties the admins stopped caring, and now they start a server and call it a comp

SPOT will back me up - just the other day we were talking about how the LANS have changed from competition oriented to Admins just relaxing. Sure thats great for you guys, but it kills a lan that should be competative.

The ones at St Pats were good, but i like the new format because its a bit more laid back which is good. I like the bended vs guf comp format but i guess it would be better if everyone could bring their comps.

As for comp suggestions: cod2 of course (maybe some CTF), SWAT4 is good and SAMP could be fun for just screwing round.

Yeah the st pats LANs were awesome, they were my first LANX experience and definitely my best. Great games of SWAT4 and COD2 going on, and everyone was there for some gaming..miss those days *tear*

Ok dudes, with the introduction of the new lan, we're leaving friday night and saturday morning comp free, there will be two comps sat night, swat4 and cod2 more that likely, and good old quake3 sunday morning. I'm using cod2 as the big interlan comp as I'm sure most people will have it installed and are used to it :P But in the morning we can do whatever, have some big bf2 games or whatever :) up to you mofo's!

EDIT: Oh, and we won't be doing the whole LANX vs BSC vs GUF thing, too many tears, it's all on all, you can makes teams with guys from the other venues, it's all good baby!
