This was gonna be the I'm not dead thread, but I couldn;t be fucked typing it...
so here goes.

this is a serious post, its very disjoint, but as evil as you think I might be, I don't wish what I go through upon anyone, its just plain fucking terrible. And the only reason I ended up like this is because, well, read, because good chance most of you are working quite fast at doing the same thing to yourself.

I have a fucked back, many of you don't know this, because I live on drugs of some kind, and have periods where my kind of activity actually involves me drug and pain free for almost weeks on end.

1 year ago, I got a severe attack on pain (pinch), it took me over 2 hours to move about 5 meters and call the ambulance, I was out in a couple hours, and had physio to help
6 months ago, the same again, also at home, housemate ran me to hospital, except this time, they userd super-drugs (can't remember what), I was let out 8 hours after admittance, and given a prescription version, which turned out to be just a dearer stronger over the shelf medecing, anyway...
for the last couple weeks, the upped ibuprofen dosage wasn't doing its job, I usually don;t take them unless absolutely necessary, and weed is one of the best pain killers, and the 2 togeter mask everything.... but it too did nothing in my last case, as I was walking (a good thing for a bad back) and on both...
exams are SUPER, me, sit still for 3 hours.... yep, thats what fucked me over the last 2 times, and here it came to get me again, fuckers.
having a limp from severe muscular pain in my leg (because of the l4/l5 disc) I was innocently walking down the street, then came my 3rd full on pinch, instantly fell and went through all the typical too much pain to not move, but when ya do it becomes 500x worse, and you do really, edge on passing out from pain within a couple minuites, but then bang, gone, got up, thanked the people who were there and called the ambulance and all..
I took the cruise in the suspensionless bumpy-van again, and ended up getting another x-ray, new pain killers, and new diagnosis.

on the other side of things, I been prescribed some WICKED pain killers :D
2 years ago, 0 pain killers
1 year ago, 200mg of ibuprofen
6 months ago, they upped me to 800mg ibuprofen.
now, I'm on a low dosage of vicadin (hydrocodone and acetaminophen)

probably not the best sign, but its only temporary, until exams are over... and then I have withdrawls to look forward too :)

look after your back little kiddies, the way I'm going I'll be using a walking stick almost permenantly in a year, and looking at a back operation in 3 years, new disc
not cool.

this is a serious post, I did this injury when I was 12, motorbike accident, had pain naturally, but didn;t pay attention to one any greater than another... I had a bad pain in my right leg, occasionally in my left, and a pinching pain in my back, it lasted for a couple months progressingly getting worse, I never went to the doc about till I was 21, andhad my first real severe pinched nerve in my back, at that time, its well past what they call acute, acute ends in about 2 weeks of pain, then they consider it chronic, and chronic is bad!, and with 9 years of aggrevation on a non-attended chronic squashed disc, well, after x-rays, as some of you know, I had a pinched nerve, and crushd cartlidge... no biggie, special excercise can resquash the cartlidge in the other direction... the biggie is, its become too bad to do that excercise, as it creates inflamation of the disc, making the symptoms worse, perfect fucked up situation

simple, the pain from this kind of back pain, makes being stabbed seem like nothing in comparison, I won't go into the being stabbed story, but anyway, if you get any back pain that does not ease off within 2 weeks, go see someone.
due to me not, I now have something that if I'm lucky, can possibly hold at this stage, reverse it a bit, and live happily ever after taking over the shelf pain killers a few days a fortniht, if I'm unlucky, I might be one of those bastards that can't walk or spend half there life on serious pain killers, or in serious pain.

all cos I didn't pay attention to a sore leg and back after comming off a bike...
this is the most severe kind of back pain I have, also, the most common injury, without lecturing you on what the physio said, sitting is what caises it, aggrevates it, etc...
I woulda gotten it anyway being a pc based person, and so will all of you that ever work at a table for a living...
just I sped the process up, oh, 40 is an average age before a deskworker gets a pinch, and I chopped 19 years off the average, but if you don't look after your back, you very well likely might end up like me, and the more you do wrong, the sooner.

research posture, sit properly, don't slouch, sit up straight, blah blah blah, so your always told, so was I, as if I'd fuckin listen, but just think, if I did, I wouldn't have agrevated it to this point, infact, I mightn've even made it beyond acute pain and still be 100% now... who fucking knows, but the facts are, if I did pay attention to those things, I'd be one hell of a lot better off..

this is a warning, if in 20 years time your stuck in a hospital with needles in your arm, half knocked out to keep you mentally sane and concious, don't say you weren't warned... its not fun.
