Hi Guys!
If you haven't got any plans tomorrow, I suggest you go have a geezer at this! See you there ;)
GiG Press Release
It's time for computer games to come to life in Ballarat this Friday and Saturday as the companies that make smash hit video games like FURY, AFL 2007 and SLIDATRON descend on the Mining Exchange for BallaratGIG, the first ever games and careers event in this region and one of the first in Australia.
BallaratGIG (Get into Games) highlights career options within the lucrative games industry as well as showcasing some of the exciting developments in games technology. It is part of Ballarat's third annual Innovation Festival.
The City of Ballarat, with the assistance of Multimedia Victoria, the University of Ballarat and the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) have put together a star-studded line-up of key games industry players such as Endgame Studios, IRGurus, Blue Tongue and Auran to demonstrate to Ballarat youth the developments and opportunities of the games industry.
Skill development TAFE and Higher education course options will also be outlined by the University of Ballarat.
On both days, participants will be able to play the latest games on quality plasma screens. Careers information will be a feature of Friday's session, with a more interactive entertainment focus for the general public on the Saturday session.
City of Ballarat Mayor, Mr Richard Hancock said, "Ballarat is an ideal location for an ICT event, particularly one targeted to young people.
