i tried this open beta, by myself HA! but i wanted to see what it was like. my housemmate has been raving on about it for a while.. it was ok. the game play from an FPS point of view was like a cross between cod2 and css.. imo - perfect. chugged a little on my PC though, which sucks because i've only just built a C2D 2.13, 2GB corsair xms RAM and a 7600GT... i was playing it at 1680x1050 though. i didn't mind it, fans of HL2DM will probably enjoy it a lot. waiting to see the full game in it's glory.

Open = closed, my bad. You need a key to be able to "officially play". Although there are rumors of lan play via hamachi.

Chugged a fair bit here too bex, and I was running the same res as you too.

I played warrock in its first beta, not in its re-release. It feels like a bare version of bf2, although the motorbikes were a absolute hoot.

It's true! You can play as nod in the skirmish.

On the skirmish screen just select nod, it will still appear to be greyed out but once you get in the game you're playing as nod.

And you may or may not have to hold down 'n' while you select nod, but i think you do :S

Wouldn't say overpowered, its just the paper mache^ buildings make it look like they are.

The balancing is rock, paper, sicssors, meaning everything is designed to have a counter. For example the best nod vehicle (warmech) can be taken down by a squad of rocket troopers as its not designed for anti-infantry.

Oh, and holding down S and selecting scrin does work in skirmish, except there's no units and you get an instant defeat :P
