Hi Guys,
Just getting a few things sorted before Saturday!
*** VENUES ***
There are 2 venues in operation, The Bended Elbow and Guf!
Those of you who have booked at Guf DON'T NEED to bring a
PC, one will be provided :)
Those of you booked at the Bended Elbow DO NEED to bring
your own PC.
*** SECURITY (Bended Elbow) ***
When you show up on Saturday and pay for your seat, you'll be
provided with an event tag which you'll have to wear to gear upstairs
to the event (there is also 2 free drink tokens on the tags).
Entry will be paid at the bar downstairs, and security will be checking
so no randoms can invite themselves up stairs!
*** SPECTATORS ***
There will be a strict no tag no entry rule, due to the unique nature
of this event, spectators will be charged the tiny fee of $10 for an
event tag (which also comes with 2 free drinks). This is to cover PLI
and to hopefully discourage drunk tards from coming up and wrecking
our collective groove. On the off chance that a random spanner decides
to buy a tag and come up to try and be a hero, he'll last about 10 seconds
before being removed and dealt with. :)
*** PARKING AND ENTRY TO VENUES ***
GUF: Best parks are across the street in the civic hall carpark, entry
via man door, (you'll also receive a event tag which will act as a pass
out).
Bended Elbow: There are parks around the back of the venue, these
are probably the best for us as the ones out the front are metered.
We worked out today that you will be able to enter from the rear of
the venue, there's a buzzer you can ring (there will be a sign) when
you get there, please try to get there between 10am-11am as someone
will have to let you in, and we don't want to be going up and down the
stairs all day ;) Sounds too much like exercise!
There's a dumb waiter (a little elevator, not a waiter who's lost the ability
to speak) that you can use to get your gear upstairs. Then you can
go to the bar, get your tag, and head up and collect your gear. This is the
best way we could think of to get you and your gear up without having
to walk through the main area with your pc!
You are also able to leave this way, so if you leave while the night club
is open, you wont have to carry your pc through drunk tards :)
*** COMPETITION STRUCTURE ***
Games will be chosen on the day, 1 by GUF, one by the Bended Elbow,
Quake 3 will be the decided. We'll play a best of 3 game series to decide
which venue wins the Golden Mouse, this trophy will be on display at
the winning venue until the next event :)
There will also be a few drink cards up for grabs for competitions winners
and MVPs.

OK, I think these are the main points I wanted to cover :) If you haven't
booked and you wish to come, head on over to http://www.lanx.org.au/
and click the registration link on the front page!
