Hey guys this is probably a really noob question but i was wondering if you could help.
I have a wireless modem with 2 computers connected to it. The first is connected by a USB cable straight from the modem the other with a wireless adapter. Both CPTs running XP.

I have had this set-up for almost a year now but this problem has arisn only in the past month. I keep getting a Message in bottom left hand corner stating
"IP address conflict with another system on network" I ran ipconfig on both CPTs and saw that both were running same ip address on the network.

However when i change the ip of one the internet eill no longer work but network does any help would be greatly appreciated!

Assign them their own IP addresses and make sure that the gateway is set as the router's IP address. Couldn't see why that wouldn't work.

And christ your site reeks of Maddox.

depends which program

stuff liek certain java-based multiple-connection network applications can be "bound" to a single local ip address, that's about all you can do in xp for that

seriously, linux

ubuntu comes as a livecd :) download, burn, pop it in, have a play without fear of damaging your OS
