Think about the logitech MX500 series and the G5 and G7 then ask again. I dont know much about wireless mice but i think the G7 would be pretty good given logitech's reputation.
usb is fine
wireless is fine
the only issue with wireless is with shit arse brands in LAN enviroment.
G7 and mx1000, and MS wireless Explorer are fine in LAN enviroment as long as noone near ya has a devil mouse (wireless a4tech)
no difference between wireless and usb, usb has the potential (and many cases is) better than ps/2

Yeh wireless can be pretty gay for lans. At LANX a while ago, a friend of mine had one and he was messing with the guy who was sitting opposite to him. Was pretty funny for a while :D (but im sure was shitful for the other guy)

100% backed up what he said, i've used a mx700 at lans and never had to deal with interference.
The only real problem i've had with mouses, is getting the lcd screen to fully function...

mx700 wasn't that good
have another 2 or 3 mx700's near ya and ya all have issues.
still, ANY wireless mouse can be killed by a single a4tech within 5 meters :(
they are absolute devils!

MX1000 has never skipped a beat, perhaps I'm lucky enough not to sit around tight arses with their A4Tech crap :P.
my mx1000 served me perfect aswell, but also never been near a a4tech since I had it.
i know the mx700 and MS Explorer definatley still fart and die around them.

Yeah same thing happened to me a while back, the funny thing was, that the guy was actually right clicking and managing to click on context menu items, I was like,

they do, i've got one at home. they are fine once you start using them, but if there isnt any activity for 5 mins or something, you have to move it around a bit to get it going again. they also chew up the batteries.

It's also a pain in the arse when you forget to recharge your mouse before a LAN... a couple of Xs ago I was charging in between rounds in the Quake 3 comp - 30 seconds of charge will buy you about 2 minutes of use before it dies!

ive got a logitech Bluetooth mx1000 mouse, not a problem with lag at all. although coming out of its standby seems to take a second, but no problems with lag
