assorted optical drives, incuding DVD writers :)
1 TB in Raid5 format (10 500GB Seagate HDdrives)
2X PCIX 7800Ultra (XFX of course :) the gamers choice) working in SLI
PCI Giglan
PCI Audigy 3 soundcard
WiFi :)
Liquid cooling (H)
550-600W PSU, to power all the shit, + mods (like cathodes)
A shmick looking case, Dual 19inch LCD monitors, G15 Gamers Keyboard, Razor DiamondBack mouse,
5.1 sound, 60watt speakers, 250watt bass
and... i think that about does it:)
OH! and a floppy drive, for kicks.

HOPEFULLY shit doesnt break down hardware wise, as dominatrix knows all to often i have prolblems of my Mobo shit dying.

EDIT// Lol, i r dumb. Wouldnt be 1 Tb in raid 5.. it'd be more like 4, 4.5 and Joshu says thats "IF" raid supported that many disks, if i oculd find one to do it. heh. still, :)

3. 10 drive raid 5.. 1tb.. joshu is your saviour? no? 10 drives in raid5 is simple, controllers are around for 16 drive raid 5's, almost off the shelf items. you would get 4.5x10^12 bytes, about just under 4.1TB
4. Why an old gen gfx cards.. do you have no ambition?

the only thing that really makes my system chug is solidworks when I end up with complex assemblys and try to simulate the physics of the motions and collisions, and alike..
but hell, the pro's are running farms to do that, or leave the simulation run while they do something else..
everything else is sweet
so I ain't complainin :)

A Quad SLi is two cards build into one, each card with 2 GPU's....and going through the one PCI-E slot. It uses an external ac adaptor I think...well the duel 7800GT has so I would assume this would as well.

Is the best setup of the most powerful parts...I guess you gotta feel big somehow...someone elses dream computer might be something completely different. I always wanted an Athlon XP system. And know I do. Some peoples dream computer will be to have the most powerful computer possible...other quiet content with a computer that will do the bare basics, do the things that they will need it to do.
