Not trying to start an argument, after all, it is personal choice. What browsers do you guys use? I personally like opera.

maybe this will help (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=235462540 259752433&q=get+firefox)

Firefox, because it's quick, blocks nasties, and fully customizable with thousands of plugins. I've tried others and Firefox is my favourite.

Is the new netscape any good, at all? I havn't tried it, and i'm only asking because I have no intention on doing so.

Don't know, and i agree that i too, have no intention on trying it. :) (Atleast for a while...)

I used to use opera. Very similar to firefox, but (aside from all the stuff mudgie listed for firefox) It has by far a cooler icon than opera ^_^

But yeah, has anyone tried the new Netscape?

Opera... for starters there kbd shortcuts suck, there performance is lacking, but thats not what stops me from using it..
the fact that so many sites fart and die if you use opera.. something that only IE, Firefox and Mozilla don't get.

bank = won't work
uni = blank pages on login
ABI = doesn't work...
making sites think its IE6, does sweet fuck all.

pfft.. another fad of opera users :P

otherwise.. yeh, its better than it used to be.. and the ads are gone :)

Snazz

Firefox AND Mozilla?

The shortcuts are fine they're just different to IE, don't notice any lack of performance (seems faster and cleaner then Firefox) and i haven't had any issues loading pages whilst using it. :)

Jensy
10-05-2006, 08:09 PM
works completely fine for me, only two pages ever didnt work.

shortcuts in firefox is what I'm comparing it to.. but thats nothing..

Start browsing heavily java based sites or badly coded sites, and you'll be wuickly dropping back to IE or firefox.
if you don't have to go to them, then you'll never understand my gripe :)

yes, mozilla and firefox ARE different.

I'm not interested in visiting any heavily java based or badly coded sites, but if in the rare case that i want to visit such i can still just open up Firefox on the side.

Spot the difference...
they both sign in.. but just guess which one doesn't let me do any more than browse forums or look at the title page?

That btw.. is the browser check :)

Nipples

Mmm, I agree, back in the day I had alot of problems with Opera in that respect, but I haven't come across one for about a year because they've fixed it up in a big way, though as you've shown, not completely... so for me it's come down to personal preference... and seeing that i used Opera long before Firefox, so I learnt THOSE shortcuts already, why burden myself with more learning? :D

For me, it's just personal choice

mudgie
11-05-2006, 12:12 PM
What kind of shithead web developer doesn't cross-check their websites though? Especially when you're getting paid for it! Banks and schools are notorious for only working in Internet Explorer... C'mon, you're getting paid, put in the effort.
