nah, i intend on getting both tho, i did with the xbox and ps2, had both, then modded both, sat down, thought of my comparison, thought about money spent, and spent money on other stuff. PS3 stats and features just look attractive as. Probably good to compare when both have been cracked and modded decently, that will be cool, considering the rates they can peform at. Now its complete.

flatmates getting a ps3 when it comes out (for FFXIII, same reason I was gonna get one :P), I got the 360, both agreed its fucking awsome, Sony and Nintendo actually have competition, the Xbox was ok, but really was suited to running XBMC.. not the case with this one.

Yeah, I really agree with Bignick about it comming down to quality of games. Like, I love Playstations not because I'm a silly fanboy who will follow my brand until the day it crashes and burns, but because the games I mainly play on consoles are the Final Fantasy series and the Metal Gear Solid series... all basically assigned to Sony completely.

xbox 360 failed in japan miserable, almost no sales their compared to the rest of the world..
main reason being, lack of supply at launch and there so fucking ugly :)

the funniest thing about this is..

MSGS said the style of the 360 was designed for the Jap market as resellers in japan said the biggest thing hurting the origional xbox console was the size and look of it.
360 gets launched in japan.
MSGS saying the 360 failed in japan, they will aim for europe and US (reason being, resellers said its big, extremely ugly, and too damn heavy)
360 has gone off heaps better than the xbox ever did in the rest of the world.. worse in japan.

impossible for a console to wreck a disk unless ya go shaking the thing around while its working, or try jamming it in somewhere its not supposed to go :|
I spose leaving it half sitting on the tray and continually trying to close it could also damage it..

Maybe if you lit fire to the console, would probably need something to help it light up.. so if you dose the console in petrol, then light it up, it might also damage the disk, but the dvdrom casing would probably protect it enough it would still be fine..

dunno i heard that the 360 has been ruining game discs. My neighbor got one, and it kept freezing on him. Remember that when the xbox was first released, it was still buggy. Nothing against the console itself, I was just asking. If you want to set it on fire, go ahead, lol

every console ever has shown issues on release...
but on the ruining game disks, the only way its possible is by moving the console while its working.

most consoles in the past have had some kind of rubber pad on the roof of the dvd drive, or a plastic laser head, so movement has resulting in nothing, or mild damage.
the 360 does not contain these rubber pads, and has a die cast head, meaning movement while the disk is spinning will almost inevitabely result in scratching.
why you would ever do this is beyond me.. but thats what the complaints are in regards to.
the first PS2's did the same, but not as severely.

as for the 360 crashing, mines has been turned on more than it has been turned off, it crashed three times in nfs:mw (once immediately after the other) when trying to connect to LIVE, the rest of the time its been solid, except when in a cop chace it seemed to randomly lock up.
IMO opinion, which I haven't had this long, its pretty much identical to what the PS2 was on release.. excellent in stability, but does have its faults.
MCE used to crash the console if the network went down or the MCE PC rebooted, this is no longer the case.

Most of the crashing involved is buggy games, and not the console (but the console naturally can't be perfect, no company in the past has made one perfect, and the complexity of this one, just increases the chance, but the fact everything can be updated, also decreases the chance these will be occuring in the future).
the last update MS issued fixed the problem of the MCE extension locking the console if the MCE PC was shut down while streaming, which is proof they are doing something about the issues.. just need the game manufacturers to do the same :)
