MASSIVE $5 PRICE HIKE! OMFG!

Hey Dudes,

After the last VicLAN meeting it was decided that we need more money, we're simply not getting enough funds to pay for all the groovy gear we need, as well as the dreaded PLI!!! So, with the price of everybloodything else going up and the, I've been forced to increase the entry price by an entire $5! OMFG, I've paid more of a cup of coffee!

This money will be used by VicLAN to ensure that your lanning experience remains fabulicious! It will also help LANX in ways that will HOPEFULLY become apparent at the first LANX of '07! If everything goes according to plan, next year, Ballarat gamers will be the most spoiled gamers in the world ever :) (well... in Ballarat anyways :P)

Lately lanx seems always to be booked out prior to the event startin, with some ppl missin out, so even if a few people don't like the price rise, still rekon ya will fill the paid up seats easy enough.

Here is a copy of the email I just sent out to everyone, I was
so beside myself with disappointment that I had to get my good
friend Hugh Grant to read it out... somehow his voice always
makes the worst news bearable... Find the audio version attached.

Due to the abysmal bookings for this LAN and the last,
it is clear to us that the massive price hike of an entire $5
has deterred about half of you from coming. This is very
disappointing, as with these low numbers we will be unable
to continue to run LANX.

To avoid pulling the plug, we have been forced to hit the
'rollback to last know good configuration' button, and set
the price once again at $25... Even though the VicLAN
fee's have doubled, it seems we're going to have to absorb
it somehow...

Just to make this perfectly clear, nobody is getting rich
running LANX, we all volunteer our time because we love
gaming! If you've heard different, it's bollocks, and you
need to slap the person that told you upside their head!

To the people that have already booked, we are always
grateful for your continuing support and appreciate that
you actually value the event enough to shell out a whole
$30! To all those people who came piss bolting toward
the BBQ when we used to yell 'free shit' at the Uni, we
look forward to seeing you book soon!

A lot of us from college are involved either directly or backstage (because benfish is the backstage manager he recruited some of us) with the school play which is on ... during lanx. I'm fairly sure the price isn't an issue for the majority of people (cue poll) and its just bad luck - $30 is still a really good price for a weekend's entertainment.
