Band Camp < LANX

Now here's a story that is completely true...
I'll make a list of the things that went completely wrong for me,
and also mention what others went through.
FRIDAY - THE DAY OF THE CAMP

I was late for a SAC, which i completely forgot about,
because i was helping pack things up in the band room
We drove past a four car collision in sturt street.
We heard of a guy from our school,
that completely totalled and rolled his car behind loreto.
(Through 3 fences, i think, and 5 people were in the car.)
We were at the scene of the train and truck collision,
delaying us for about 30mins. (This is a terrible story)
We arrived at band camp...started to play music,
and whilst we were distracted by the music, 5 of the guys got robbed.
A total of seven bags were stolen,
including 2 of mine and 1 of vengence's.
This all happened soooo conveniently as police couldn't do a thing,
and we were distracted by our music.


Later on that night, after my walking and cursing through the bush with a cricket bat, and vengence and his torch, we were sooo pissed off, and were just trying to settle...One of our friends, in the same cabin, hit a soccer ball with the cricket bat...straight through the window of the room.
That finished the bad luck of the night...and we could only look forward to what was to come next.

Many things were stolen, including expensive phones and ipods, expensive sleeping bags and clothes...but to tell ya the truth, the one thing that pissed ME off most was that, "ALL" my year twelve work was stolen as well as....ALL my notes, ALL my text books, my diary and my expensive graphics calculator. Now thats fucking lame!! Fucking Beoufort, you horse fucking country bums! All i said on the Saturday, after this strike of bad events was, "They better be fucking doing my home work!"

Fark, those assholes should crawl into the bush and die, i have to buy a whole new rugby kit now, the worst part is how everyone washed there hands of liability, the camp says they can't do anything and nothing is covered, even though we could not lock our rooms, and the school won't cover shit either......bastards.
if anyone sees somone walking down the street with a st pats 1st rugby jersey with number two written on the back, please run them over and then back repeatedly over the corpse.

I found the bastards camp site and a jumper left there.
It was a look out/ camp site that was not far from our camp.
The coal was still very warm, with few embers left.
They heard the music, drove up onto the oval of cave hill creek.
2 people grabbed the first seven bags they could see, or handle, and a 3rd must have driven them out.

The hunt begins...

Seriously, that's sooooooooo bad man, you have my sympathises (I drove past 2 of those crashes aswell.. the 4 car was lol, the guy at the back would have ot pay for the lot... or atleast his insurance would), but people who just randomly steal are the lowest of the low... go back to Compton

This whole fucking week has been one disaster after a bloody another!
My cat is in the vet hospital, after someone found him.
We originally thought he was hit by a car,
But the vet seems to think it may be a dog attack, due to the fur that looks to have saliva on it.

UPDATE -
Found some of my school books including texts and some notes.
Although many things are still missing.
They were found in a dumpster in Ballarat, which brings upon many thoughts that they had to know.
They knew that we were going out to Beaufort!!
This just gets worse and worse.

Yeah, and the stuff i got back is a positive, as it is stuff that can't be claimed on insurance.
Like exam note booklets, and revision notes.

yeah man theiving fuckers.. worst case scenario is: that someone who knows you, knew you'd be going to that camp, stole your shit!!! or someone or a number of people were closly siteing you while at the band camp, that these people had no intent on stealing, until noticing you guys at the band camp grounds, they would have made the "quick" decision to steal while overwatching your activities... chances are, that these people are not very bright, not by any means professional, and will almost guarnteed fuck up... with the sale of more expensive items word tends to get around quickly... i'm sure if you asked enough people, you'll find out who may have stole your belongings!!! or you may have found out who bought your shit... things can be easily identfied as yours by the discription, i'd scope eBay soon, or maybe cash converters on the safe side... but hey it's still a minimal attempt at catching these fuckers!!!

zyaN, what kinda drive is it? model number, capacity, RPM etc...
when you power the HDD does the motor inside spin up or not?
one of 2 probs, PCB has shit it'self, it's actually quite easier to find another PCB for a common HDD,
or the motor has shit itself, and you'll need some professional help getting data back, or go build a clean room, and a nanomagnetic retreiver intrument!!! lol

Only if its the servo... always try swapping controller boards first. anyway, it is a plain bad idea anyway due to condensation.

Cheers guys for the help. Once i get home tonight and have a spare moment, i'll post the required information.
Aphex - Yeah, i think the motor does work, cannot be sure though. I have felt it and there does seem to be some activity.
It was due to die soon any way, as some of you know my perspex case went commando and done a few rolls, after a heavy drop at a lan a while ago.
Ah well....i guess this sorta allows me to think about upgrading ye ol pc...

hold the hdd when you turn off the pc/remove power.
you will feel the hdd wanting to spin in your hand as the platter slows down.

yeah power is one thing, but if you say that your PC did the comando thing while operating? well it could be simply the R/W head may have damaged sectors on the platter it'self, or yeah more damage with in or on the platter or R/W heads in the HDD it;self, still a nasty effort getting to work again,
the whole freezer thing has never been confirmed with any dead HDD's wheather be motor or mag R/W abilities...
so i'd be more inclined to say RIP HDD... and thoss it!!!
Ohh btw,
as for activity zyaN, in very rare instances, the motor in a HDD can have had it, but the R/W arms still continue to move back and forward, searching for a damaged boot sector, as cvt says, hold the HDD, you'll feel the motor resistence while holding the drive, but if you don't feel that, then motor is stuffed, and if it happens to be the R/W heads are moving, i'd throw the HDD away anyway, because when that happens usually the heads have made contact with the magnectic platter and have scratched the shit out of it!!! especailly if there moving extatically to find some sort of track...

I can disprove that it works in so many ways its not funny, and can show many reasons its much more likely to permenantly kill it even if it was fine before.. but there is a slight possibility of there being something in it I won't call 100% bullshit on it.... even though I want to.. I won't because I'm not positive.

belows an example of how I beleive it to have come about.

remember the days where you could double your ram by soldering an identical stick in parallel with it, ie.. old 1M sticks, solder a wire between the pads that go to the mobo, and the other stick, I actually was joking with someone about it on IRC way back in the day, we were making it up on the spot all these uber mods to make ur pc better, and making some less knoledged beleive us (i was young... :P).. next thing we seen it in some forums.. and yeh, me and 1 other dude were responsible for many dead computers by us joking and someone thinking we were serious and it sounded so good he had to spread it to the world.... I can't help but think this is the same thing..

hey aphex, although most is released on ng, then filters through to bt, a bit is still released in irc then filters its way across. its not dead for all, just, pretty much all :P
but almost everything, as was the case back then, scene stuff is almost always released on ng's then filter around, episodes and cams and other shit can pop from anywhere from nobodys.

Now no more scewing the internets history... first ya don;t knwo what a BBS is, now ya don't know IRC.. I'm not that old :'(
