personally i loved the novelty comp (w00t go frosty) and the CoD2 comp was cracking. We should ban Mudgie from playing CoD2!!!!!!!

It was great, I'm glad I was around for all the comps this time (even though I disappeared for some of SWAT :)). And that was just shit about banning the shotguns, Sensitive Sally!

Good work again, only negative i can think of was the map chosen for the COD2 comp, everything else was positive.
I didn't mind the shotguns being disabled in COD2 but i think they're equal to less 'spray and pray' then the SMG's, which also have more range, rate of fire and ammunition then the shotguns. At close range you have to still be reasonably accurate with the shotgun if the enemy has the chance to move and shoot back. Whereas close quarters smg action usually involves spraying/emptying the magazine in the enemies general area whilst trying to aim for their head.
The way the game's been balanced it seems fairer to keep or disable both, it'd make alot more difference on a russian map because of the russian SMG advantage (think ppsh). SMG's also come with smoke grenades, which are the only things that dramaticly bring down framerates for most of us when playing COD2 and when used in flag areas effectively disable the ability to defend that flag. Just my thoughts.

Nope, aim with a sniper rifle (or weapon of your choice, sniper rifle is most effective) for your own flag, soon as it plays the "your flag got stolen" noise, fire and gloat.

I also heard that, once again there was a near full booking, yet alot of people didn't show!
Im calling for suspension!
If you don't show and have booked, alot of people that ARE interested miss out!

It was that one with the church and graveyard... some France map I thinks.
Shotguns aren't the only guns that do one shot kills, that one shot rifle from the germans isn't too hard to use without zooming in... The only trouble with it is that you don't get a smoke grenade :P
But ah well, it was still a fabulous comp, even though the other teams sucked balls ;).

The map was St. Mere Eglise. A good map for a DM or TDM, but fucked for CTF.
Overall, X this past weekend was great!
BTW, Mudgie, I still owe you for that first round of COD2. You and your flag carrying, shotgun camping ways... :P

No. Apparently being on the team that was the stupid fkn teddy bear thing our objective was to stay alive(Not to be killed By Tuskan Raiders with laser guns wen all we had were stupid sparky stick things)

Decent idea Joshu, but sniping the carrier through smoke still takes perfect timing and after a few kills you'd get hunted down. :P

Map was Saint Mère Eglise (Dawnville) and i've hated it since COD1, you have a point that people should of practised all the maps before the comp but very few were actually played, i think they were Wallender, Rostov, El Alamein, Caen and Carentan. Still a good effort considering last time we just played Toujane for hours. :)

We were only crouching down to each other's crotch ingame and 'headbanging', i swear. :p
as long as they keep making war games and swat games, and then we play them im happy

Shit guys, best lan i've ever been to.
COD2 was awesome, and i fell in love with the american Grease Gun and the German MP40.
Controversy about Snazz's Spray and pray - 32 bullets should get you 5 kills, not one, and a reload with frantic respite. in stead of spray, try burst fire, and dodging. I do agree with you about the smoke, it does rape some machines shocking - I feel it, and im on an AMD64 3500+, average machine. I guess we all need that 4k for the upgrades :S
Loved Swat too. Next time, we do it in a new map, and in style - no nasty stair camping :) (thats the call out to the LOL team, you guys are cunts and gave us an AWESOME run for our money. i know the iris people behind me learnt some new swearwords at nipple ninja arrests. (NINJA!) and chops' abusive colt above those stairs)
For the record, from now on, unless an alternative is suggested, I vote Unreal Tournament 2004 CTF for the 3rd comp - hasnt been played in a while, but people mightnot have it so... really depends.

fabulous lan! i was really pissed off about my shotgun :gs, wasnt too bad though, i discovered the mp44...
can i suggest Q3 corkscrew mode for novelty comp next lan? either that or battle raper!

I actually spent most of my time rediscovering the MP40. Brilliant gun, not bad at long range at all! CoD goes off every time :D
No battle raper though :/ Need to find a rad 3rd comp, might have something in wait for you guys next time... if you know what I mean... :)
Aww, well nothing beats our v37 & v14 intimate moments ;)

i personally had a gr8 time at X except for my fuckin gay ass homo poo wee father who made me goto a family reunion on saturday :( but i made it back for CoD2 which was a gr8 comp... also id like to thank kenny for his l33+ first aid skillz and all the admins for putting it on :) cheers guys

I liked the lan, I wasn't to keen on the cod2 map for ctf, but cod2 is great, right after the lan I went straight to eb and bought it. I had never played Swat4 before either but that comp was great to.
