i'm affraid you'll have a very hard time looking for an exotic item like that...
probably better to look at getting a second hand capable single socket motherboard... i may know where to get one though...

*although i'll need to know what kinda socket it is... i'd assume it's a socket 370, but for the old P3 Xeon CPU's i'm not sure about PGA etc...
so let me know details, and i'll get back to you...

:hint look for anything tyan http://cgi.ebay.com/Tyan-Tiger-230T-S2507T-Dual-Motherboard-Two-P3-CPUs_W0QQitemZ6871684872Q QcategoryZ80155QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem

international i know, but hey... better than nothing...

lol that mobo comes with better CPU's than he is trying to get a mobo for

yeah but look at the price...

a couple of spare CPU's big deal.. but the big diff is that this board only has Dual 1.0Gig P3, and not Xeon CPU's which happen to be a lot better by default... archetechture wise anyway...

i'll do you the favour of not getting into it... lol

Seriously doubt you're going to find one of these second-hand around here, unless it's ex-cvt.

Best bet is to ring up B&D I reckon, see what they can get in new.

$550 (http://www.altech.com.au/products/showDetails.asp?prodID=67 68) :/

K6-2 socket 370 to wern;t they?

not sure i have ever seen an K6-2 dual processor system, unless of course it a dual Slot A mobo but then again i have enevr seen those either, dual slot 1 and dual core support for socket 370 with intel CPU's yeah,

ummm.. come to think about it, there is a chipset called super 7, for the socket 7 support for dual procssor setup's mixed between AMD and Intel... not sure about your chances of getting one of those either...

mayeb as a last resort, go to the SMB campus and ask to buy one of the cappy dual Slot 1 servers... HAHAHA

yeah ok i found out that the amd processors of that era didnt have some thing that enabled it to run as dual processors so that idea is now scrapped but i think i may buy that dual 1ghz tyan board of eBay so thanks for the link and also im thinking of looking for something else dual voodoo2 sli cards wooooo thats if i can find a pair of them.

I got older, and different socket... none for them :P
Best bets OCAU forums, maybe ebay, but are you sure you really want to spend that type of money for getting a old dual 800's system going?

IMHO not worth it unless you fell very lucky with a bargain.

as for k6, don;t beleive it was possible?
all the intel in that era were sweet.
aphex may be right with the s7 but never seen one.
xp's just need to have, think it was the L1 bridge joined. google for it.

yeah those super socket 7 chipsets where the shit back in the day, i remeber having an old K6-2 300Mhz, and i had a freind give me a Cyrix 266Mhz to test, funny enough it didn;t occur to me the compatibility , until i put it into the mobo, although the mobo had something 30 odd damn jumpers for diff frequencies, CPU types etc it simply booted up and off i went...
i had that board for a while until it blew up... but if i ever came across one of those again i'd buy it in a heart beat!!!
