One Must Fall 2097

for the upcoming X we are running ONE MUST FALL 2097 as the novelty comp.
to help get guys setup and practicing i'll give you some instructions on how to get it going.

one prob i had was, it runs in WINXP but the sound is all messed up.
so i user DOSbox (a DOS emulator) to run it,
but the speed is low and im too lazy to manually config it in DOSbox.

i used Dfend, frontend for DOSbox.
so that way you can setup programs with a wizard and you end up with icons to run games from.

when setting up OMF in Dfend, run a wizard (F2)
give it a name,
select the path of the OMF.exe,

next (MOST IMPORTANT PART)
set the cycles to 11000 - this will make the game run at the correct speed!!
just next thru everything else (i also set the memory to 63MB)

and BAM!! you have OMF2097 setup,
you can create an icon for the desktop that will load the game straight away without going thru the frontend.

Another useful app is Joy2Key (http://www.zophar.net/Files/jtk361en.zip) which you can map keys to a joystick,
so you can use any joystick with OMF.

**NOTE - enable advanced options and turn on REHIT mode and DEF throws,
also turn on HYPER mode, as this is the way we will be playing.
Also there will be no pilot stat editing in the comp.

well the game will be a quick, but not too quick pace.

and most decent fighting games have def throws in them.
the ability to throw is a valid counter to being trapped.
most fighting games now have command throws, so you can throw anytime you want (a3 for eg).
even in sf2ww you could def throw!!

so def throws are in, since the blocking is dodgy they are still hard to get out.
and my cpu is a p4 3.2 for ref.

its a fkn great game, that is bring back memories of swapping games on
3.5" spanned zips and EMS and XMS.
