It seems like IRC brings out the very worst in people.
This is a log from a conversation I had a couple of days ago. The backstory is simple: KrisNET is one of the most popular IRC Bots on the AustNET network, I'm one of the admins with it, and Kingdan (or one of his buddies) banned the bot from his chat room and then wondered why KrisNET wouldn't join anymore.

I think J.D Salinger said it best in "The Catcher In The Rye" (or more recently, The Laughing Man in "Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex")
I'd thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf mutes, then I'd never have to have another god damned stupid conversation with anybody.
Anyways... we ended up shit listing him. Theres about 400 channels on AustNET that he's banned from now :woot
What is it though that makes people who would otherwise be quiet and polite, into complete arse holes as soon as they're infront of a keyboard? It's just friggen gutless. I'd bet my right nut that this guy (or anybody else) wouldn't say the kinds of things people do online when in person, so why should the net be any different?
