It's a sad day my friends... THE KING IS DEAD!!! :(

The cornerstone of LANX was found deceased this morning at approximately 11am

when I decided that it was time to watch the new eps of SG1, SGA and BSG...

I was shocked to find that the king was unresponsive... I applied the cortical electrodes

but was unable to get a neural reaction. What does this mean to us... well, this

machine has been holding the fabric of LANX together for the last 3 years, and now

it's gone! It has been LANX's primary gaming server since LANX started, so this is

indeed a sad day for us all!



Due to this great loss, I have decided to open an appeal to purchase a replacement,

if you have ever thought about giving money to the starvin' children, the tsunami

appeal, the fix New Orleans appeal, or any other appeal, the time to act is now! It'll

cost a measly $980 to replace this great machine, I mean, I've paid more for a cup of

coffee! So search inside your hearts and your parents wallets, and help us crown a

new King!!!

It's dead, we need a new server, I've priced a machine, and that's what it's going to cost :)
Don't think it's salvageable, I think the storm got it... Ya can't just run perfect for 3 years that
decide to shit yaself! Chris is coming over tonight and we're going to have a play, then it may
end up on the B&D operating table, but even then, games are getting to grunty and we really
do need a new server!

Nah dude, I've like, you know, worked with computers for a while... like only 15 years or so... I have a spare psu, what I don't have is spare RDRAM... :P For 1GB of that shit it's only like $800... better to get a new machine... I'm so sad :(

Thanks guys, your awesome combined contribution of $10.73 was enough to buy sweet fuck all! Really appreciate the effort.
I had to pull the money out of my house deposit account to buy the new server, because it wouldn't have been much fun if we didn't have at least one good dedicated server.
On a positive note, I took the king into B&D where me and craws tested it... Plugged it in... nothing... so cleaned the guts out of it with the air compressor, then nothing... removed and reinstalled the CPU... it worked. So we think that there maybe a MB fault, it's working but I don't know how stable it will be after the storm. I didn't want to risk having it crash in the middle of a comp final. So paying for the new server was worth the $1000 it cost me so I don't have to put hear "OMFG, 10 seconds left, scores ties, I was 2 seconds from the flag!!! OMFG, CRASHED, LAG, LAME, POO, WEE!!!" and the like. But seriously, I hate you all for expecting me to fund your fun!
