You're actually going to have to put some work in, the prize is worth $240, which may involve
a site visit, taking some photo's, and of corse, addressing all the points, as "NO IDEA" isn't
addressing the point :)

The scout hall we used to use at bklan was pretty good, fairly big, kitchen, seperate room up front for console and a small sleeping area. But it isnt big enought i think we used to fit about 30 people pretty easy, its worth a look though since that lan is dead.

Cheers dude, we need room for at least 60 people, cause we know that we can consistantly get 60+ people every 6 weeks, just getting more then 80 members or so in the same place at the same time seems like an impossible feat!

Eastwood leisure complex over the road from safeway and coles wouldnt be a bad venue. only problem would be perhaps the power situation and if its busy over weekends (i suspect it isnt), it has a full sized basketball court as well as 2 smaller rooms that are used for karate and dancing (at a guess you could fit probably at least 60 people in one of them). There is a kitchen but it is over a hall way in one of their small conference rooms. Worth a good checking out i reckon..... cheers

Yeah mate, they don't have any tables, we checked them out
ages ago, used to train for bball there back in the day.
They have good rooms, but not enough tables, and they only
have one 3 phase plug which is in the bball hall near the
outside door. Also no kitchen, so pretty shit outta luck
which is a pitty!!! Cause they are just around the corner
from my house!!!

I appreciate your suggestions guys, but could you pretty please read the rules up the top,
the rules are there as we have looked at quite a few places and if the venue doesn't meet
the requirements up the top there is no point posting it :) I'm actually waiting for a stunning
entry that addresses all the points, with photo's, and contact deets! Will be an awesome day!

Hey guys, Im onto something here for a venue, and it looks like we may get it, too!! I have been speaking to Joe Fazzolari from St. Patrick's College, and he is happy to organise a venue there for us!!! He will be getting back to me in a couple of days, so the anticipation is overwhelming!!!
1 Hall with the following properties
1) Approx 12m x 12m open space (with stage) or 12m x 15m (with out stage) stage is preferred
St Patrick's School canteen area OR gymnasium of said school
2) Toilet for pooping and the like
Not a problem
3) Kitchen for Dave to do his thang
Still discussing possibilities of using school tuckshop
4) 1 x 32A 3 phase plug, or at least access to 4-5 20A circuits (3 phase preferred)
One would think so, I didn't hear Joe say "No, we don't have them", can anySt Pats guys go check to see where the nearest one is?
5) 30 tables (standard 6" trestle, or similar)
6) 60 chairs (comfy preferred for bums)
I told Joe that he wouldn't have to worry about getting anybody to carry these ;)
7) Seclusion (to stop curious walkers by wandering in) and parking (for cars) would be lovely
You can't get any more secluded than the middle of a school after 6:00pm on a Friday

I should have listed the venues that we've said no to... Been to the bell tower, got a much better quote than that, but venue didn't suit, too restrictive. I'm looking for a place that we can call our own, one where we can hire the place, do our own thing, then leave!

Sounds like the same dude aye... bastard still owes LANX about $400 for the switches he blew up, which is the cost of the 2 switches - the cost of the venue.

what about where we had LOTL...? That was pretty cool... there's a bar... toilets... kitchen... sleeping area... I'm not sure on how many people you fit in there though... apart from that, it was awesome... ya should have another theme lan there...
that was way too small, and food was as dear as.. them places are really a novelty venue... not a every time thing..
it was cool.. but ya don;t wanna spend ya lifes fortune on food and drinks at every lan ya go to.

It was funny with all the yacht owners coming in... "My word, what an odd thing to happen to the club! How ominous!"
But for regular Xs... No.
