Loosing my licence so spot has to do all the fucking driving to all the lans in the world ever while I get to sit in the passenger seat jacking off :wave
Seriously though, probably liver aids, or what ever fancy name they have for it.
Q4 What do you think are the CLEAREST SIGNS that a person has been drinking to much over a number of years??
Not sure what the obvious signs would are, I know some serious alco's, the most obvious sign I see is rapid ageing. You think someone's 45+, then you find out their only 35 or so... you quickly put down your beer and have a good think about where you're heading... then you head to the toilet, have a piss, come back and finish your beer.

It's true. Real alcoholics completely lose grip of what's real and what they've told themselves
Quite pathetic actually
Peter
21-08-2005, 11:13 PM

what i should have said, is "quite pathetic to see, actually" as it is ..
i'm not saying they are pathetic, weak people, just that what they become is pathetic. A smackie supporting themselves through a life of crime, or an alcoholic lashing out at the people that love them, for example. Of course, i take a dim view of anyone taking the first steps (ESPECIALLY people experiementing with recreactional usage of herion) ... But i reconise that a lot of people end up like this because they need to escape horrific events in their past or present. It's a shame that society doesn't place a higher value on trying to catch people before they fall ..

yeah, i think that we need to do more interms of prevention. we need to talk to people, educate people, there is a better way. you dont have to hide by using drugs

i think everyone knows that taking smack is a bad idea - but people in desparate situations aren't realistically likely to care. I think we could do more by getting the homeless off the street, and spending a lot of time and money on helping them. especially the kids .. if i was some 14 year old street kid blowing old gay men to get by i'd probably spend my bucks on smack too

When I graduate I want to be a professional alcoholic
Peter
22-08-2005, 06:35 PM
lol you dont need to graduate for that ;)
ok i think this has gone to far.
STOP TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY.
it is just to get my licence back!!
Spot's licence back =
This will help me get my licence back and that means the potential for lifts to lans :tg
I suppose the potential bit is a tad unreassuring ;)
well if i get a car and the lan is setup, ill hand out lifts.
i'll prolly be only able to give lifts at the start and end of the lan,
since i will be running comps.
but it wont be happening this lan. next one for sure.

Q1, Would you decribe yourself as a-
FAIRLY HEAVY DRINKER - VERY HEAVY DRINKER
Q2 Think of a typical week, how many drinks would you have on a weekday and on weekends??
1- Daily---
OR Special Day of the week --- usually a slab + a bit when i'm out...
OR Monday to Friday--- usually only drink when i'm with mates...
2- Weekend---
erm... i usually lose count... but about a slab + $40 worth when i'm out...
Q3 What do you think are the WORST EFFECTS of excessive drinking over a number of years??
ummm... becoming an alchoholic, destroying your liver
Q4 What do you think are the CLEAREST SIGNS that a person has been drinking too much over a number of years??
i dunno... obviously HAVING to drink... ummmm... violence when they drink, having no cash because they drink too much...
for the record... i may be classed as an alchoholic, but i only drink when i go out, and that's only 1-3 nights a week... and always with mates, never by myself.
hmm, I used to be like that...
now I drink rarely..
4-5 slabs between 3 people was the norm every weekend.
now its a slab between 4 and leftovers lol.
Ever since I started drinking at 17 or 18 I have suffered crippling, nauseating hangovers, so I hardly ever get pissed anymore simply because I am crook for about 3 days afterwards. The days of suffering outweighs any possible fun I could have while drunk.
i know what you are saying there Eoin.
i normally get the shakes for 2 days and feel sick and weak for 2-3 days.
i hardly ever drink now and if i do its not too much.
plus i have to fill out a drink diary and for the past week its been nothing.
i know that they will say i am bullshitting, cause they assume im a hopeless wineo.
Joshu
23-08-2005, 03:45 PM
Wait, you mean people need alcohol to have fun?
(I'd fill the form out, but it'd be a very boring "0, 0, 0, 0, no, 0" response.)
