ah yes but notice that mortal kombat was at the top of the list? and lol, Street fighter the movie game was at the bottom what were they thinking?? I'm merely implying that it was good for its time for a movie with no CG

At first I thought this was going to be absolutely horrendous as well, but on paper it's got a few good points going for it:


It's set on Mars. Preliminary script had it on a fictional planet.
Dudes like The Rock and Karl Urban are staring in it. Those guys are good action stars.
There will be Rosamund Pike to look at. She was the british bond girl in Die Another Day.
They have a BFG.
The monsters have all been modelled directly off their DOOMIII counterparts (apparently).


And although I agree it's hardly going to be a legendary piece of cinematic greatness, it will provide a good action romp at the movies which has been lacking for a while now.

I hate wrestling and wrestlers, but from the small amount of action film that I have seen The Rock in, he seems no worse than most of the the terrible attempts at the old style action hero character that Hollywood has tried lately.
