i seen that a couple weeks ago.. I was so....in shock.. I was hoping it would just pass and never actually be noticed or released..

my dreams....did not come true :(

*NoN*Da]rY*
15-08-2005, 01:35 PM
i just dont see that being a practicle case. IMHO

SnooP
15-08-2005, 02:26 PM
yeah definately not practical. but then again for most people neither is case modding in general. Looks crazy as! but not necessarily bad.

Peter
15-08-2005, 03:10 PM
well i suppose i would use one... it kind of grows on you :)

but i wouldnt pay the standard FUCKLOAD for a Lian Li. pretty good cases though. sturdy and pretty damn solid

you really think so dairy,,, you are still stuck in the dark ages my friend! ;)

he has a point... mini-pc's do indeed suck balls for expansion...
and the usability goes so far out its not even funny.
some people would be happy with one 'will post asus pundit-r review when I'm allowed to' but some people want water cooling, 7+ hdd's, coffee maker, fridge, and cigarette lighter included...
and I support that (especially the fridge)!

*NoN*Da]rY*
15-08-2005, 11:09 PM
damn fucken straight, if i had my way... bloody PC's would be bigger than a fucking house and need one of those tractors that pull a space ship to move them!

i need space! and steal! Aluminum cant stand up to the heat of an angle grinder. and the big knocks i put into a casee ;)

Peter
15-08-2005, 11:11 PM
but lets face it, the averege user had what?

1 HDD
1 Optical
and MAYBE a GFX card

doesnt need much room

but dairy DOES have a good point :P

thats the most unusual store bought case iv seen in a long time. :) i reckon it looks fucking great :D

cvt
16-08-2005, 12:18 AM
Peter.. thats why I mentioned the Pundit-R
perfect example of that (as sexy as aswell)
but to the 'power user' its rubbish.

I'm waiting for ASUS to accept the review before I can post it...
its killing me :(

Board/Case Layout 5.0/10 [========== ]
BIOS 2.9/10 [====== ]
Features 7.8/10 [=============== ]
Stability/Performance 9.0/10 [================== ]
Overall 6.1/10 [============ ]
Overall for Targeted Market 8.5/10 [================= ]

but I'm not even meant to show that.. theyve sent me a couple emails, but not said there unhappy with anything yet...
so I will show ya the overalls :P

peter just how many users here are average computer users,,,,,,,,,,,,, NONE not a single one! most of us here are pritty much heavy computer users and have more then 1 hard drive to speak of,,

I kind of like (well... can stand) the case; it's very different. Knowing Lian Li it will cost $1000 plus your left nut.

Peter

Mr Pea i was just saying that i can see a great demand for the smaller PC cases. they have a very important place in the computer industry, i mean at the moment im putting together a mini-itx computer system that will act as a media computer ontop of my tv, it will also be networked to my pc aswell as conaining a DVD drive and sizeable laptop hard drive running Windows media edition, and i tell you, i dont want that to be one massive fucker! smaller than a DVD player is the go.

cvt
16-08-2005, 06:25 PM
screw Windows Media Edition... if its for HTPC use, use a good one, like MythTV http://www.mythtv.org/modules.php?name=MythFeat ures

or even XBMC on a xbox :p

but, but, WHAT ABOUT THE WINDOWS DANCERS?!?!?!

i reckon it would be cool as like... a dining table feature. it provides a nice humming background sound too!

Even with a all-in-one mobo, single HDD and one optical drive small cases like those woeful shuttles have god aweful heat problems.

I like baked hams, not baked hard disks.

cvt
16-08-2005, 10:17 PM
the pundit-r doesn't have heat problems (well, hdd gets warm, but far from critical)
not all mini's are toasters!

there sexy (well, not the shuttle/qbic cube things arn't)

MR_PEA

i was going to buy a shuttle but the 200-250watt psu kinda kept me away from it on top of the cooling issues.....
nice small and great for lans!@

*NoN*Da]rY*
17-08-2005, 02:00 AM
i was talking about the snail case...

On shuttle PC's you can get some greats ones.... for certain purposes... ALL HAIL THE EDEN! and the PSU's n those cases suit the boards you run in the Pea ;)

cvt
17-08-2005, 08:19 AM
I head of more dead qbic/shuttle PSU's than U have any other..
they arn;t realy bigenough, and don't even bother with the ttop end cards in a good majority of them, you need that 300W PSU for them...

a couple makes now include 300W PSU's exactly for that reason.

Peter
17-08-2005, 12:02 PM
ive heard of people running 7800GTX and dual core 64 4800+ on a 250 watt shuttle case ( silent X PSU ).
__________________

as well as 6800's but i wouldnt want to risk that, i would get a higher rated PSU. shuttles are awesome, and would love one as a LAN rig. id want to put a bigger fan in it though :)

cvt
17-08-2005, 12:55 PM
funny thing is I never said they didn;t run, they blow up in a few months of running.
warranty replaces them, so its no huge biggy, but its something you should consider

*NoN*Da]rY*
17-08-2005, 01:52 PM
ill take on the 80kg machine i got now hands down over one of these "shuttle" do das ;)
