k dudes i have a new idea i want to run past you all to gauge a bit of interest.

a comp where you pay $5 to enter and when you win, you win the cash.

1st - 60% of pot
2nd - 30% of pot.
3rd - 10% of pot.

i was thinking that games will be 1on1's or 2on2's.
comps will be double elimination so you get 2 chances before you bomb out.

just want to know who would be interested and what game would you like to play??

ie: q3, ut, cod 1on1's - starcraft, q3 2on2's??

you guys have to specify a game. i am thinking either FPS 1on1's or RTS 2on2's or a combination, etc.

it happens in the street fighter world heaps, so think of games that would suit this type of event.

try to keep em quick (SC doesn't really cut it there) but you guys get what i mean.

You really need graded matches if this is gunna happen, so that noobs can fight other noobs and the elite guys can fight the other elite guys. Makes for less of a kitty maybe, but it stops the inevitable the_balance vs Random Hero matches happening.

lolz. anyway sounds awesome! Q3 1on1 battle for supremecy would be cool, as would most RTS 2on2 (generals, starcraft in particular) just make sure that its only little amounts like $5 not stupid amounts :p could be a good way to liven up friday nights in particular :tg

How about: UT2004 One on One instagib.

Each round is first to 25 kills, winner progresses up to the next round, loser is taunted and booed untill my throat is sore.

it would be good to have 2 grades; pro - everyone can enter pro and costs more to ante.
and amature - no pros allowed.

only thing is you'd have to run a seeding tournament to grade people.
maybe the best way to get the difference is to charge more for ante. say 2-3 times more for pro.
so that way you get more serious ppl.

OR!! people could just get better at the games. what a shock!!

What's the deal with impartial referees and "house rules" (such as no lethal weapons, or no darksiding, or no snipers)?

k guys here is the law concerning money (non comp) matches at X.

-A issues a challenge.
-B takes up challenge.
-A and B both agree to game rules / type / number of rounds / bet amount.
eg; COD, pavlov, 20 kills, 2 of 3, no snipers. etc
-both players HAVE to agree to terms to play match.

-A and B get appoint ref/ money man. (C) (Get an admin if ya can)
-A and B must BOTH accept C as the money man before game can be played.
- A and B jump into a server called $$AvB Money Match$$ (replace A and B with player names and keep $$ in there cause its cool)
NO-ONE OTHER THAN THE PLAYERS AND THE REF ARE TO BE IN A MONEY MATCH SERVER.
IF YOU ARE ASKED TO LEAVE DO SO!!

-C may jump in as a spectator if the game allows them and players agree to specs.
-C holds the money, thats why he's called the Money Man!!
-C may not skip to Mexico with the Money.

-At the end of the predetermined rounds/ matches/ games/ wins/ etc, C gives winner the cash.
-Any attemps at cheating will result in the WHOLE MATCH declared null. (C will give A and B their money back.)
