Yeah, you have to solder like 20 wires for the PS2 - I don't know any guys around Ballarat, sorry :/.
yeah its 17-18 wires, it cost me 80 bux online.
and i can do it, i don't have the gear to do it.
fukin tiny ass fiddly work. plus i cbf doin it.

Your best bet is probably a place like B&D, the radio dudes there might be used to intricate soldering.
David Cassells?? i think thats how you spell it ?? Im pretty sure he does that.
chipping ps2's limits the life of PS2's, have since the first ones.
anyway, I done my fair share (about 20) in the past, and I still have nightmare, and I don;t know anyone else dumbenough to do them anymore either :p
I'll give ya a NTSC PS2 mainboard, its a v5 mainboard.
I don;t have a DVD Drive for it, that, you have to find.
I have a 240V PSU, and a case, but no power buttons and no fan, you'll have to find them aswell.
infact, all that is in a box of about the peices of 5 ps2's, how about I just give ya that, and you can go crazy.
most of the ps2's post, practice soldering on a board, if it doens;t post anymore, you know not to touch ya good one :)
if it does, just do it!

only 18 wires now, wow, I was doing it when they were 44 wires (neo4), and the messiah, whatever it was, 30 sumthin.
I also did a couple NEO2.2 and Omret chips (5 wires and 18 wires), but they never worked properly together, two 1/2 chips to try and make 1 decent chip, how dodgy :p
