The Xbox actually has some pretty good games on it, you just have to find them. And by the way Mong, the Cube rocks. It actually has games that are made for consoles, like Super Smash Bros. Melee, pikmin, paper mario, zelda, metroid, resident evil, not the shitty titles that are ported from console to consle to pc etc. But you have a point, games like GTA3 and Splinter Cell would have been made heaps better had they been on PC first.

Gee whiz, it's a mini computer? :O Who gives a fuck? I admit, if they could have shrunk it if they used laptop sized DVD drives, but I don't see why you're having a period over something that's like a PC. It being like a PC makes it incredibly mod-able, unlike a PS2 or Gamecube. It having a 'real' hard drive is a godsend for people who want to turn it into a movie box.

Yes, I hate it how they release every game on the consoles and then slap together a lousy port for PC. I've enjoyed the two games I got with my Xbox, and Halo 2 is on the way... There's nothing wrong with it.

I'm tempted to buy a GameCube just to play Super Smash Bros Melee, cause I haven't played it and I lurrrrrrve Super Smash Bros. :( But buying a console to play one game is sort of stupid.

This is why I dislike consoles. They used to have the "no operating system" upper hand in performance, but now PCs are more customisable (and have mice!) they're better.

Joshu - Gamecubes are pretty cheap nowadays, last year i got a whole system, 2 normal controllers and a wireless controller for about 150. Wireless controllers are stil about 50-60 bucks each, you you will get a bargain somewhere, They are selling them for 99 bucks in some places.

I really don't care how big it is - nor do I feel like paying for laptop parts that would raise the price :). The size is still smaller than your standard PC anyhow, so no complaints there :P.

I agree with you on the games that are console only - GTA:SA is one example of a game I'm dying to play that isn't on PC yet. Also, consoles are largely aimed at noob gamers - all this auto-aiming crap is like watching a movie that requires you to push buttons. They're just lucky I have no experience at pushing little joysticks around :).

You can mod anything.

Mod protection works by looking for the mods and preventing them from working.

You can usually get away from this by detecting their detection process and intercept it and tell it there is no mod.

Like i say, if you can hear, watch or play it, it can be copied.

Back on topic - I just watched a tvrip of the MTV XBox Launch Party... and all I have to say is: :rolleyes:

They had a 3-minute segment on the "capabilities" of the XBox, mainly the cosmetic ones (snap-on faceplates, xbox interface themes), a 2-minute segment on the gaming test center there, about 30 seconds of how one of the dudes in a band likes XBox quite a bit, a 30-second segment on "unveiling" the XBox (might rip it out in VirtualDub and attach it), and probably 20 minutes of live music.

Fuck it was lame. I don't know how it's a "launch party"... MTV really need to stop smoking weed and go take some media classes, so the camera operators learn to zoom properly and the program editors learn to stop changing songs every 15 seconds/camera angles every 3 seconds. It's their fault we have no attention span.

BTW, Frodo is an MTV dude now. :rolleyes:

E: Attached the "unveiling". Didn't compress very well due to MTV film style + lighting effects. Also in case you really don't understand, rename the file to .avi so you can play it. :)
