Some insults are just designed to hurt.

Others, like mine in this case, are designed to label you as WHAT YOU ARE. For christ sake, camping the allied base with a frogfoot is called "spawncamping" last time I checked, especially if your team doesn't even have the offensive.

And the offensive you mention appeared as a large group of bots walking around like retards, Waiting to get slaughtered by real players who want to rapidly and easily improve their score. Another reason to exclude bots.

Also, Co-Op DC (the game mode that allows bots in multiplayer) limits the maps that you can choose from.

Target practise. Frosty and I can entertain ourselves for ages just killing bots. Of course, that says little, cause we can entertain ourselves staring at a blank wall.

Technics has it. Bots kinda defeat the purpose. Especially when they are as bad as the DC Bots are.

In most cases, a bot will enter a helicopter, fly it straight up into the air then flip over and come back down to crash.

DC bots cannot fly the helicopters and there's little chance they ever will.

Bots are fun chopper practice, and god knows some people need it.

The blackhawk and pavlov (huge sea chopper) are good flying practise, whereas the hind and littlebird are definatley too manourverable or sensitive for learners.

I guess bots are fun for chopper practise because they won't shoot you down as much. But i very much prefer the challenge and atmosphere of human players and human players only. :)

DC Final has a bunch of new maps, if you guys are actually willing to play the latest version. (I hope you are :P)

I've got a lot of 3FL maps that are exsisting maps with extra helicopters and other vehicles and a map based on Black Hawk Down, whether it's actually fun is the question.

DC Final has new maps yes, such as Al Nas, Dustbowl, Lost Village No Para, Cornered, First Light, Bridge, Coastal Hammer, yada yada yada. The "add ons" are custom maps by a guy named Mr Peabody, i downloaded them from 3FL.net when 3FL had a custom map server. It's no longer there, but i still have the maps.

Some of my favourite maps are El Alamein, Desert Sheild, Lost Village No Para and 3FL Dustbowl.

I like gazala, but thats mainly because its fun flying 2 feet from the ground under bridges in the apaches taking out anti-aircraft tanks :D

Yeah I like El Alamein and Desert Shield, although I haven't played DC in a while.

If played properly (with people defending outposts etc.) Conquest can make for a lot of fun, especially with plenty of people. There's a lot of teamwork involved, too.

The reason Frosty and I started playing Desert Combat (with an outdated version of Battlefield, not sure if anyone noticed :P ) is because we were slightly sick of CS, CS, CS. We play DC with bots quite a bit when we're bored, just for the hell of being asshats.

Why, you ask? Neither Frosty nor I often enjoy the 1-on-1 stupid sniping style of Call of Duty, or Battlefield Vietnam. (although we do go craxy with it)

DC is very different to Call of Duty and BF Vietnam if you pick larger desert maps with lots of vehicles. So that'd solve the 1 on 1 sniping.

I noticed that you were playing on 1.6 with DC 0.7, because i had to copy an entire new BF folder to join your game.

the best dc map is wake island, specially for ctf! (we should play ctf, is fun as shit)
the best 1942 map is coral sea with awesome dogfights...


bots are cool, me and mudgie played for hours with 2 vs 50 and it was awesome.

IMO:
I couldn't have fun with bots for hours, because they're predictable. And you can mass own them, and that's not challenging and therefore boring. Human players are what lan games are all about, they make it fun. Having bots on the side in DC is just a nuisance. That's why dedicated online servers don't have bots (co-op). Also because the bots lag low end CPU's, making DC a shit experience. Keep it human people!

DC Wake Island CTF is great, as long as i'm on the Coalition side. (w00t harriers)

BF Coral Sea is sweet, but only if you can fly a plane and you're into dog fighting (circles). :P
