It's a shame the page doesn't mention their highest achieved velocities, it only cites a project goal of accelerating a slug to 1000m/s or more... but it does say slugs (not their own) have been fired up to 5000m/s. (5000m/s is 0.0000166%, or one-fiftyninethousandninehund redandfiftyeighth (1/59958) of the speed of light...)

Which just makes me wonder if we can customise the color of the trail it leaves.
