There's a message hidden in there somewhere Joel... in plain English.
Why did you bit-shift your interpretation of the message though? :/
radass, if you're reading (hopefully you're not) this is right up your alley.

Heh, a teacher tried to explain binary to me once, but I didn't get a farking word of it.

it's not hard, just stupid

hexidecimal is "beautiful", binary is stupid because it takes too long.

it was never intended for human use though

um... binary wasn't either...
radass

that's what i meant :| hexadecimal WAS meant for human use, because assembler coding in binary was gay, wheras 2 digit hex op codes could represent the full capabilities of an 8bit instruction set in an easy to remember format (and 1 digit in the 4bit days)
binary is beautiful because it can represent any number in hardware with a bunch of simple electronic switches .. and allows for mathematical operations to be implemented in hardware extremely efficiently ..

And decimal is beautiful because I can work easily with our 10-digit system.
I don't think I could deal with x = DF * B0.
Yeah, step two is annoying. Nobody on the internet seems to have got it yet. The creator reckons it's something a middle-schooler could complete, so don't bother messing around with high-complexity code grids and playfair keys. It's also supposed to pop right out at you when you get it.
I tried converting each number into its respective position (1=a, 2=b, 27=a, 28=b) and rotated through each possible solution - nothing obvious. I also re-rotated all answers for the a=z premise we used as kids, nothing there either.

It's the same sort of thing, the smarter you are the longer it takes you to get.
(took me 1 hour as well :()
