Ok people, as we're encouraging some more passionate gaming around here (as outlined at in http://www.lanx.org.au/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1148 ) one thing i recon we need to do is get more microphones being brought to lans, so that we can have voice communication between team members ! imagine how much better games like COD and joint ops will be when you can easily give/take orders without typing and also alert others to troup movements ...
Get yourselves some headsets people :D

We'll set up a dedicated teamspeak/ventrillo server for you guys, so you don't have to worry your pretty little heads ;) At the start we'll get ya clan leader to come up and register the server, we'll give him the details and password, and he can pass it on to the team :)

I'd like a microphone in the wrap around style, like with headsets, but be able to keep my current headphones. Anyone know of a microphone like this that doesn't include headphones?

if u guys have seen the headphones i use - they are vertibram or something like that
they are good fro LAN's and only cost about 15 bucks
we were using ventrillo during xvz 2 - its the shit and would help andrew out a lot for joint ops with out having to yell at me all the time

Grrr... I found what I'm looking for, but they all seem to start at about $400. They're farking expensive. I might just grab some coathanger wire and fashion myself something to do the same thing with my current clip on microphone.

May have to look into doing a group buy, If we can find a headset that we all like, I'll see if I can get them cheap as a quantity. I'm personally a koss boy, and would say fuck the AHS502, these are the babies you all want ;)

Yeah, bit of an update, the KOSS SB45's aint going to be in aus for a while, but that will not stop us, I actually did some ringing around and checking out for you lovely guys. Got in touch with koss and the koss distributor in Sydney. They are going to retail in aus for... $135. I mean GOD DAYUM!!! Alas, I have ordered a pair direct, cost me $70AU inc postage with currency change over and crap. Little bit cheaper than $135! Anyway, when they get here I'll do a little review on them, if I think they are as sex as I hope they are, I'll put up an order page like with the shirts/hoodies, get ya's to put ya names down and direct deposit the cash, and I'll take it from there. If all goes to plan, they'll be around $55 each :D For an awesome set of gaming perfect headphones ;) And, you'll be some of the first gamers in aus to have a pair!
