Hey, just found out that we can get onto a good price on the CMV CT-720D 17" 8 ms lcd. They're a bit hard to come by atm but there's a shipment coming in on the 14th of feb. They arent the most well known brand, but a google seems to find only extremely happy users.
30 day, 0 dead pixel guarantee. find a dead pixel within 30 days after getting it, and they'll replace it. They'll pick up and drop off too. On top of that, 3yr parts and labour warranty, also pick up and drop off aus wide. The strong guarantee shows their faith in the product, in my opinion.
also has dvi input, not that i personally think it matters.
If anyone wants one, let me know pretty soon and i'll add another to our order.

CPL (http://www.cpl.net.au/) advertise 17” CMV CT720D 8ms for $439.
Been there before but have never bought anything from them. They have a well established shop not far out of the city in Melbourne, haven't heard anything bad about them.
Don't know what their warranty is like, but you may want to check them out if you're chasing one of those LCD's specifically.

my price was delivered, to the next X, just so ppl know I wasnt trying to rip em :D
Courier to Ballarat would be about $15 .. I dont drive but i'm sure fuel would be at least that too.
and it seems absolutely no one can get onto those lcds now .. if anyone finds one in stock pls let me know

And whilst we're being rude, I may as well say that while crawleytech might hijack a thread and reccomend an LCD monitor with a dead pixel replacement warranty of 8 DEAD PIXELS OR MORE in search of a quick buck, I wouldn't personally recommend such a monitor when other manufacturers offer a pick up and drop off warranty for any dead pixels at all within 30 days of sale.
Sometimes, it pays to pick and choose. Same breed indeed :no

I think Nikkyboy was giving people another place to buy the monitor, since you don't have any in stock anymore (as the quoted post indicates).
Why is nobody (but dominatrix and the_balance) giving prices though?:(
Edit: Shit, my bad, noticed the price "prominently" displayed in the thread title.

not that monitor, a completely different one with a totally inferior warranty.
Dead pixels do happen, a quick waltz around lanx will prove that.
the_balance was being helpful, nikkyboy saw a quick opportunity to make $5.

Any more, OF THAT LCD, Sheesh
And sadly no damo, it's seems they've all dried up atm. We have access to other brands and models of course but that particular model hit a particularly sweet spot regarding performance and price. Before this model came out I would have reccommended Samsung screens as I happilly use them myself, but things are all up in the air at the moment, and moving pretty fast. Some pretty awesome models at decent prices are starting to appear ..
.. so it's a matter waiting just a *little * bit more i recon
