just thought i'd post this quickly before i put them on ebay in case anyone around here plays guitar enough to want cheap pedals.
Danelectro pepperoni phaser (yeah i know it sounds + looks a little dumb) in the original box with all the promotional crap etc - $40
http://uploads.bestupload.com/redir/51231.jpg
not bad little phaser once the internal trimpot is tweaked a bit (like i did) a nice subtish phase. as a comparison i saw a boss ph-3 phaser for $350 at Allens (it did a coupla more tricks though)
Arion stereo flanger with the box/promos etc- BBD based flanger -$50
http://uploads.bestupload.com/redir/51230.jpg
this one can do quite a nice chorus sound to it. doesn't do jetplane stuff though (unless your skilled and mod it)
boss bf-2 flanger was about $300 at Allens and its had a nasty metallica ping to it (bought one off ebay, hated it, sold it...)
Yeah i know noones probably interested here, just though i'd post anyway just in case

Nice... hry just outta curiosity, whats your opinion on pedals vs multieffects pedals? I've got a Digitech RP 100 (relatively budget, but does the trick) and have always had the theory going "Why buy 10 pedals when you can buy half the price and get more effects". Whats your opinions on the matter?

some of the more expensive multi effects are good however there are some recurring themes:
mostly they suck for distortion compared to the dedicated units. Digital doesn't do distortion that well, however there are a few multi effects with analog distortion (eg boss gt-3, zoom gfx-4). Usually they do modulations and delays and reverbs alright. Though mostly the wahs aren't very good. The big thing with multi effects usually is not enough effects at once.
The dedicated units have a few advantages - they usually sound better, easier to use, can use all the effects you want at once whereas multi effects its usually only one distortion/overdrive, one modulation/effect and one delay at a time. I use a mix of both myself. I have dedicated units for distortion (modded boss sd-1 + modded boss ds-1) and a few mod effects (boss ph-1r phaser, danelectro tremelo, guyatone flanger) and let the multi effect (zoom gfx-4) take care of the rest.
Oh and i had an rp100, was ok but most of the distortions weren't that very good and having only two footswitches and no pedal made it a little tedious to use so i sold it. Still a good unit if you can get around $100 or so (try US ebay).

What if you want el cheapo garage band grunge crunch distortion?
MultiFX pedals can do whatever you put their mind to.

hehe ahh yes the garage player with the zoom 505....
oh and if your after an ok multi effect zoom 606 is only $150 at maryland and its an aussie store to. 505 is $100 there but it doesn't have a pedal to wah with.

I have a Zoom 505 and its the best pedal i have ever owned. Mines a bit dodgy even, but i will never part from it. Long live the Zoom!
But nothing passes up the Japanese made Boss GT1 Distortion Pedal (I think thats the one) for distortion. Sounds a bit soft compated to the Zoom, but is a one of a kind distortion.
This is all i need to use so far with my somewhat lacking guitar skills lol

you mean boss ds-1 distortion?
or boss hm-2 heavy metal?
or boss df-2 distortion/feedbacker?
or how about the boss mz-2 digital metalizer?
hehehe plenty of boss distortions (especially if you include the made in taiwan ones) but haven't heard of a boss gt-1 distortion :)

I love my Zoom 505 which isn't mine it's the drummer's sister's. You can buy (or make up) an expression pedal to chuck in the back for wah, but it's not much good apparently.
I gotta get my own because the patches keep mysteriously changing... the volume on the acoustic distortion went to near-zero. (playing a song, playing a song, playing a song, switch patches, where'd Joshu go?)

hehe don't bother with the expression pedal, it costs as much as the 505 most likely more and as you said its not that good anyway.

I'm happy enough with my RP 100. It's distortions ARE a bit weak, but I only use light distortion nowdays ;). Personally I think Digitech are better the Zoom because from what experience I have had with them both, I've found Zoom to be quite stubborn when it comes to making your own effects in comparison it Digitech... I just don't think they have enough of a range.
My guitar teacher has an RP 400 and it is a fucking beast... it's got REALLY crisp distortion and the freedom you have on it is unreal... needless to say I want it like Don Vitto wants a ham sandwich ;)
Digitech RP 400 (http://www.digitech.com/products/rpx400.htm)

digitech are better than zoom at the low end (espec 505), but at the high end (zoom gfx-4/5/8) they come ahead generally. though the digitech gnx series is nice but costs a lot more than the zoom gfx series.
Anyways what amps and guitars we got here?
I got a cheap fender start guitar but i'm about to put a quality pickup in it (fender lace sencer - costs about $150-$200 new here i got one for $50)
Amp: Fender Princeton 65. a 65W (duh) solid state amp with an effects loop. has clean and dirty channels but i don't use the dirty much its not that great my pedals do a better job.

You two apparently don't know how to use a Zoom505, I've made some pretty rad sounds with it, and for a $100 pedal that's good enough for me. :) But fuck yeah, Roley's RP400 owns all.
My guitar: el cheapo starter Squier Stratocaster Red, 3 pickups (able to humbuck across 2 at once), looks really "normal" but sounds really crisp and smooth at the same time. It got a big dent in it when something happened to it, so it wears a bandaid now.
http://joshu.crawleytech.com/images/joshus-red-squier.jpg
My amp: 10W Squier SP-10, which I'm currently using as a computer speaker. It goes loud enough when I need it to, which is never, and it's good to practise on.

I have the original 505, not the mk2 crap, and its a great pedal.
As for my guitar, well eek... I've got some black and gold brand fender copy. The name of the brand was unheard of to me so i scratched off the logo on the neck (Which came off easily, go figure). I fixed it up a little, putting a few stickers on it to make it look sexy. It was a 100 dollar guitar 4 years ago now i think, but the condition its in now, it will be struggling to fetch 5 dollars for the effort to take it to the dump. Needless to say, its the first guitar i bought, and ill never part with it. I have to get a new neck because the tension rod in it broke one evening during transport to a small pub. Someone ** Blushes ** was running with it (quite fast) and forgot to judge for the stobie poll that was approaching. The end of the neck collected the stobie poll... and yeah... Thats how you break the tension rod easily (yeah i know its got another name, but i forget it). The best thing now is i can play most of the jimi hendrix songs, using my neck to bend the notes. I can bend them up or down around 2 steps lol. Ill edit and put in a picture soon!

I didn't say that Zooms were crap, I just said that I thought Digitechs were better. Even ask Rolly man, you get more for your dollar with Digitechs. And I haven't used a Zoom505 extensively, but I have used a Zoom606 quite a bit (mucking around at andrews house), and I think that my RP 100 gave more freedom, even he did. I'm sure you can get nice sounds outta it, and it's not a MASSIVE difference but I think that Digi come out on top (at the lower end... I've never used a high end Zoom)
My first guitar was and is a Sammick Mulibu MB2. It's got a really nice transparent cherry red colour, and a pretty nice sound to match, a bit of a vintage sound to it despite one set of humbuckers. Like all first guitars it's in a beatup condition :S...
My new guitar (I got it... three too four months ago I'd say) is a ESP LTD F-50... I fucking love this guitar! The first thing that drew me two it was it's look, and I knew it'd look even better whe I was doing a hardcore powerstance
http://img51.exs.cx/img51/1652/powerstance8ns.jpg
I think I was right :P
It has a REALLY deep rythm sound, and while at first I wasn't sure I liked the lead pickup, it definately grew on me. Needless to say it aint gunna end up beatenup like my Sammick :P
I've got a Peevy Rage 158 15W (what guitarist doesn't own a Peevy Rage at one stage :P), I don't have a whole lot of love for this amp. It's does the job fine but sometimes it ommits a humming noise when I've got my guitar on rythm, it's build in distortion eats cock, and just in general the sound I get outta it is very dull. It's fine for prac, but when I'm playing with a band I feel it's a bit of a let down... thank got for school owned Eons :)

Why's the MK2 crap? Personally I've only used the MK2, and I think it's pretty good, cause the knob's nice and twiddly. I like knobs.

HAHAHA, that's awesome!:D
Nipples, I wanna try out your RP100 with your ESP one day, maybe at the next LAN you have, see how it sounds. I'll talk to Roley about what pedal I should get, and how much it costs to get it. High-end Zooms would be crap I reckon :p
And yes, thank god for the Eons.

Well when I went to get a pedal Roley told me to stay the fuck away from Zooms... he had only just descovered the cheaper Digi's and thought that they were far better value for money. He brought an RP 100 just to show me how it goes. So yeah, Roley is very much a pro-digi person.
And yeah, next LAN at my joint you can knock yourself out on my RP 100 and ESP ;).... but only if I get a photo of you powerstancing

I don't suppose you can get a recording of your crybaby wah onto here? That'd be wicked to hear :)
Can't remember Frosty's bass pedal model, but the funny thing is he never uses it. I don't know the last time I actually heard a bass in a song with an effect across it.

Hahaha, I'd like to see you try Moo.
I'll post crazy we're-stuffing-around mp3s up later when I'm done downloading yours.
Frosty's bass effect pedal is a BP50, he never uses it.
Edit: Hahaha, here it is. Frosty's playing bass + singing, I'm playing guitar. Don't judge us on it, it was late at night and we were so bored and Frosty's voice was cracked. That said... have a laugh, and speed the song up to double-speed using Windows Media Player, and we sound good :D
