Looking to upgrade to something DX9 compatible, in an AGP video card. I currently have a GeForce4 Ti4200, so if you're upgrading your rig to a PCI express monster, pawn your old card off to me :) cause I'm getting sick of running games in medium quality at mediocre frames-per-second.

Post here if you've got anything for me.

i've seen 6600GT's on ebay for about $320
There about the only decent value agp card at the moment until ATI puts its prices down on X800 to compete with 6600gt (probably a couplea months). the 256bit 9800 pros are alright if you can pickem up cheap, 128bit 9800s are a lot slower. fx series is far to slow for 9.0 stuff to bother, as is most of the 9x00 series....

128bit are a waste of money

$160 bux can get you a radeon 9600XT 256mb 128bit 450/500Mhz on ebay.com.au. thats what i just bought

i was refering to 128bit radeon 9800 cards, the're a heap slower than 256bit.

the 9600xt isn't too bad, 256meg is a bit of waste on this card (128meg would be easily enough). though there alright if you can get one for around the $150 mark.

And and as far as 'who the fuck...' etc perhaps you haven't been paying attention but the 6600gt is the only new generation AGP videcard under $400 that is good value. and its around twice as fast at any game you throw at it as a 9600xt/9800SE (but costs quite a bit more). remember theres no ATI x700 AGP card (x700xt just got cancelled as well).

comparison of 9800pro to 6600gt:

for 1024x768 no FSAA/Anios:

3dmark03 results for just about every agp card(6600gt gets around 8000 marks)

and farcry (around 63fps for 6600gt)
